Anatomy of Midtown Arts
You may have heard us say that more than 40 Midtown buildings house arts-based uses, and that Midtown boasts more than 200 art enterprises ranging from one-person studios to manufacturers employing more than 30 people. We estimate that nearly 400 people earn their livelihoods through the arts in Midtown.
To help Kingston visitors find, enjoy and buy artists’ work, MAD News will highlight artists in a rich range of disciplines – ceramicists, wood crafters, jewelers, theater/performance artists, musicians, metal workers, writers, weavers/textile artists, designers, architects, visual artists and, this issue’s featured artists, film/video makers. We need to hear from you!
We want to tell your stories and hear about your needs. How do you think the MAD might help you, your art form and your community? We know there are many vibrant clusters of artists, fine craftspeople and makers working in all artistic disciplines, so please contact us at MADkingston12401@gmail.com and speak up for your art!
