MAD presents the 10th Annual Celebration of the Arts EXPO

Kingston Midtown Arts District (MAD) presents its 10th Annual Celebration of the Arts EXPO which will take place Saturday, July 13, 2024, 10am – 4pm at the Kingston Center of SUNY Ulster at 94 Mary’s Avenue in Midtown Kingston, NY.

Celebration of the Arts EXPO (COA EXPO) is a FREE, community-wide event designed to introduce Kingston residents to local, working artists and engage them with hands-on opportunities to explore various art forms.

Professional working artists from Kingston will lead a range of workshops with assistance from the PUGG Youth Workforce at MAD. There will be workshops and activities for all ages and interests with no barriers to participation. Community members are free to observe or participate. No signups will be required and all art materials are supplied. This lively, fun day celebrates the arts, creativity and community of Kingston, and is open to all free of charge.

Past year’s workshops have included figure drawing, virtual reality, painting, comics, puppet-making, animation, improv comedy, music, writing and more.

Interested in exploring a special area of interest? Our dedicated PHOTOGRAPHY, and PRINTMAKING ROOMs will offer a variety of workshops and demonstrations all day.

Our popular CLAY ROOM sponsored by Bailey Pottery features hand building workshops, wheel throwing demonstrations and participation in creating the COMMUNITY COIL POT. Everyone is invited to add their imprint!

Workshops in our dedicated JOY OF MOVEMENT room will engage your body and spirit with dance, music, instrument making and performance.

Relax and take a break in the on-site cafe, hosted by We Got The Juice with healthy wraps, salads, juices and snacks. Art supplies are on hand for a creative respite in the cafe as well.
