Together: A Pop-Up Art Show
A new addition to MAD’s annual Celebration of the Arts is a pop-up art show, “Together,” featuring Kingston artists of all abilities. Julie Hedrick, Distinguished Kingston Artist of the Year, and Sarah Carlson, Cornell Creative Arts Center Co-Developer, curated the show.
The lineup of “Together” artists includes 26 paintings by artists from The Arc of Ulster-Greene as well as work by the following talented Kingston creatives:
Neville Bean
Leslie Bender
Micah Blumenthal
Ray Curran
Nancy Donskoj
Kevin Frank
Lara Giordano
Julie Hedrick
Riley Johndonnell
Joe LaLima
Felix Olivieri
Kazuma Oshita
Charlotte Tusch
The Pop-Up Art Show will open at 5:30 p.m. and is made possible in part through support from the Ulster County Cultural Services & Promotion Fund, which is administered by Arts Mid-Hudson. 50% of the proceeds from the sale of artworks will benefit The Cornell Creative Arts Center (CCAC).
Once completed in 2019, the CCAC will house ten artist studios in its 10,000 square foot facility, including a dance/movement studio, community room workshop, and 800 feet of open space for membership co-working and event rental. It will provide many opportunities for The Arc’s aspiring artists to express their artistic abilities, gain confidence, showcase their works, and sell their artwork online to help support their financial independence.
