MAD Pop-Up Fine Art Market Debuts at “Made in Kingston”

A Great Place to do Some Holiday Shopping!

MAD is sponsoring a new Pop-Up Fine Art Market at the 5th Annual “Made in Kingston” on December 7 from 4-8:30 p.m. Participating artists include Neville Bean, Jane Bloodgood-Abrams, Ray Curran, Priscilla Derven, John Fischer, Rosalie Frankel, Kathleen Gavin, Glamberger, Glenn Grubard, Thomas Hackett, Prudence Haze, Tracey Leavitt, Melissa Lockwood, James Martin, Erik Richards and Piper Wendi.

This Pop-Up Fine Art Market is the first MAD initiative to showcase local artists’ work – one of the nonprofit organization’s goals – and it will feature paintings, prints, photographs and other two-dimensional works.

MAD issued the call to artists on November 1, and within two weeks the space was sold out—reflecting the rich community of artists in Kingston and the strong demand for more art venues in Midtown. Based on this enthusiastic response, planning for more pop-ups is already underway, including the possible creation of a MAD venue for Kingston’s 1st Saturday gallery openings.

The popular “Made in Kingston” event and the Pop-Up Fine Art Market sponsored by MAD will be held at The Metro, a 70,000-square-foot industrial building at 2 S. Prospect Street (at Greenkill Ave,), Kingston. RUPCO recently purchased the building to transform it into a film and tech hub with numerous maker spaces as well.

Come check it out – it’s a great place to do some holiday shopping and meet others who love art and other locally made items!
