The Oncology Support Program is dedicated to supporting people living with cancer, and it offers innovative programming (including creative arts groups), education and comprehensive psycho-social support. For the past several years, those affected by cancer have supported each other in two memoir writing workshops. The Thursday group is facilitated by Abigail Thomas (author of A Three Dog Life, Safekeeping, Thinking About Memoir, What Comes Next and How to Like It: A Memoir, and other books) and meets from 3 – 5:30 p.m. The Friday group is facilitated by Ann Hutton (writer for Ulster Publishing, Chronogram and other local publications) and meets from 2 – 4 p.m. Both groups meet at Reuner Cancer Support House, 80 Mary’s Avenue, Kingston. One of Thomas’ oncology support program writing groups published a book, Holding On, Letting Go, a few years ago.
