Spooky Clay Puggle Adoption Event

Spooky Clay Puggle Adoption Event

Adopt-A-Clay-Puggle and Support Our Programs!

For Halloween lovers – Adopt a handmade clay Puggle of your own at the DRAW Studio on Saturday, October 19

In anticipation of Halloween the Midtown Kingston Arts District will host a SpooOOOooky “Adopt-A-Clay-Puggle” fundraiser at the DRAW Studio at 22 Iwo Jima Lane on Saturday October 19th from noon to 5pm.

Over 650 Puggles were made by people of all ages all across Kingston, from professional artists to amateurs. Now during this one day event, you can choose from a curated selection of the creepiest, crawliest and most loveably insane puggles to add to your family! Puggles will be adopted via donation, with a recommended donation of $10-25 dollars. All proceeds will go towards supporting MKAD’s Youth Workforce Training Program for ages 15-24.

Each totally unique Puggle will come with a special adoption certificate. They represent the diversity of this area and reflect its strength through hardship, which you can see for yourself!

Come by on Saturday October 19th between noon and 5pm, to adopt a Puggle of your own, and support MKAD youth!

Clay Puggle Background:
Inspired by Antony Gormley’s “Field for the British Isles,” ceramicist Susan Whelan brought the idea to MKAD’s Events Committee. As the pandemic hit our community and accessible outlets for the arts and education became much more difficult to reach, Puggles were our solution to bringing people together through art. Puggles are little clay creatures and characters created in 2020 as part of our CommUNITY Clay Project. We distributed around 1200 pounds of clay to members of our community during the 2020 Celebration of the Arts thanks to contributions from Bailey Pottery Equipment and Ceramic Supply.
