MAD Wants YOU!

Is 2019 your time to step up and get involved in the Midtown arts scene? The MAD Communications Committee is the place to get started!

MAD is an all-volunteer organization, so all the behind the scenes work is done by people just like you. You’ll meet great people who share your love for the arts, and gain valuable experience if you need to develop a new area of expertise.

Here are some ways that you can help—and most of them only take a couple of hours of time each month.

MAD Communications Committee Wish List

  • Make phone calls to local and regional media to pitch stories about MAD.
  • Writers/photographers for the MAD eNews, including photographer’s credit and/or a writer’s byline. This is a great opportunity for students, recent graduates, job seekers, and aspiring writers and photographers who need a few examples of work for a portfolio or resume.
  • Enter regular postings on websites like Kingston Happenings, WDST, WKNY, WKZE and other radio stations, Ulster County Tourism, free community bulletin boards, Chambers of Commerce, social media community pages, etc. We also need an updated listing of these sites.
  • Distribute 1st Saturday maps + poster/fliers for special events.
  • Staff tables at special events – MAD sponsored events as well as others’ events.

If you’re ready to help out, please send an email to mail@madkingston.org and let us know how you’d like to volunteer your time and energy!

Sign Up for MAD Artist Features and Our Registry
If you’re an artist who lives, works or creates art in the City of Kingston, we would love to feature you and your work in an upcoming issue of the MAD eNews. All you need to do is fill out a short interview form and submit it. It’s a great way to attract visitors to an exhibit or another event, recruit students to your classes, or to let others know that your work is for sale or you’re available for commissions. Here’s the link.

The MAD Artist Registry is open for submissions! Please complete the form so others can learn more about you and your work. Completing the form only takes a few minutes of your time—find it here.
